Highly subjective and open to interpretation.
Realistic re: organized human response?
Realistic in terms of human emotion?
Realistic in terms of the aliens?
Two semi-related thoughts make me post this:
I loved World War Z as a book, not a movie. It felt cool to get a birds-eye, “historical” look into the human response to an alien attack. The movie followed the more Hollywood route (the closest disaster movie I can think of is Contagion), which made it boring. Sorry for those who haven’t read the book; I highly recommend it, and it’s the premise of the book so not a spoiler.
I just watched A Quiet Place: Day One, and was reminded how well these movies depict raw human fear in the face of something we’ve only had nightmares about. All three of them, in my opinion. Stellar casting, acting, and directing choices.
Stay shiny.
Edit: I should share, I am high. Is that allowed? My grammar was good, at least.
Edit 2: Clarifying World War Z is a zombie apocalypse not an alien attack. Sorry.
