Hello everyone! I’m on the hunt for some hilarious comedy movies that I might have missed or haven't watched yet. Reddit is my go-to spot for movie suggestions, especially comedies or when I need a break from critically acclaimed films. I don’t typically watch comedy movies, but with life being a bit tough these past few months, smoking some pot and watching some recommended comedies from this subreddit really helps lift my spirits. I understand humor is subjective, so I’ve categorized the comedies I’ve watched over the past six months into three tiers, hoping you can get a sense of my taste in comedy.
P.S.: I avoid stoner comedies when I’m high as they tend to make me feel paranoid. Also, I steer clear of movies from the 60s-90s because the lower-quality picture and the old appearances of actors tend to give me anxiety, fearing an unexpected jumpscare.
A-tier (Movies that kept me laughing from start to finish):
- Tropic Thunder
- Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
- Bad Trip
- In Bruges
- Four Lions
- What We Do in the Shadows
- Death at a Funeral (UK Version)
- Cornetto Trilogy
- 21 & 22 Jump Street
- Superbad
- We’re the Millers
- Hangover 1 & 2
- Good Boys
- Anchorman 1
- Bottoms
- Dungeons & Dragons
- Palm Springs
- Horrible Bosses 1
- Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping
- Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
- Joy Ride (2023)
- Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (not LOL throughout, but a very wholesome movie. Loved it!)
- Crazy Stupid Love
- Super Troopers
- Borat 1
- I Want You Back
- Game Night
- One Cut of the Dead
B-tier (Movies that are funny, but some jokes didn’t land for me):
- Quiz Lady
- Hot Rod
- Rat Race
- Vacation Friends
- Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
- Hot Tub Time Machine
- They Came Together
- Spy
- The Other Guys
- Booksmart
- I Love You, Man
- Knocked Up
C-tier (Some scenes ranged from funny to not funny at all):
- No Hard Feelings
- Kajillionaire
- The Lego Movie
- Borat 2
I'm eager to hear your recommendations based on my tastes!
