Without getting too deep into things, 2023 has been the absolute hardest year of my life. I don't think I've ever experienced nor will experience such growth and change again, as it truly has been the most transformational year I've ever lived. Unfortunately, the year isn't ending the way I'd hoped it would and it's left me a little down.
With that being said, I want to end the year off on a more hopeful and optimistic note and using cinema to achieve that is probably the best way there is. Moments of sadness and hardship are fine but I need to see a film that ends on a very optimistic and feel-good note. Something that makes me happy about the future and new beginnings. To make things a bit easier, here's a list of my favorite 15 movies of all time; most of the films on here are the direct opposite of what I'm currently looking for but do give one an idea of my tastes.
Superbad, Interstellar, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, 500 Days of Summer, Her, Call Me By Your Name, Once Upon A Time In HollyWood, Ladybird, Arrival, Luca, Killers of The Flower Moon, Inglorious Basterds, Across The Spiderverse, The Lobster, Don't Look Up.
