What are some movies that you feel as though belong technically, spiritually, or thematically out of the time they are released? Not for the sake of nostalgia or homage, but because they filmmakers just did it that way.
The main examples I can think of are the Black Hole and Avatar 2. The Black Hole felt like a bizarre Golden Age Sci-fi story plopped awkwardly in a 70s package. Avatar 2 felt dissonant with the feel of the 2020s, by my opinion. Being more of an optimistic and straightforward story in the midst of a sci-fi environment dominated by quippy and self-referential Marvel/Star Wars fare.
