Okay, look, I'm not going to sit here and defend the actions of Jennifer Jason Leighs character in the movie

But....

Is it just me or is Bridget fondas character kind of a self absorbed uncaring bitch?

She gets a roommate to help with rent, promising this roommate that she won't be getting back with her douchebag ex and won't uproot this roommate?

Then does exactly that

What's worse, she literally has to be that woman and get back with him and after one night now has an engagement ring!? Why!? Why would you get back with the douchebag cheating ex and get ENGAGED the same night!?

Then she spies on said roommate masterbating and starts treating HER like shit the exact next morning when shes the one spying on her in the comfort of her own room? For what? Why!?

Again, not defending JJL here, her character does some despicable stuff like what she did to the poor dog (debatably)

But also in the wake of recent films like Joker, could this also be a character who trusted too much, got burned by someone self absorbed and treated like crap for no reason that helped to lead to her lashing out?

Also JJL kills the douchebag cheating ex, which I literally cheered for

Idk, maybe it's just me, but I can't help but feel their both just terrible people and Bridgets character is literally that person that treats certain people like garbage then gets mad at them for "being the victim"
