Or anything actually that you guys think Id like. Ive seen like 20 movies recently whilst looking for good âneo-westernsâ and nothing has topped Wind River. I love the atmosphere of the movie. The writing is mature and takes death very seriously. The movie has heart and soul. Its tense and feels grounded. The way they find the killer felt very organic. The ending has great catharsis. Id love to find more movies like it. Seriously a masterpiece imo.
Im gonna include some stuff Ive already seen below in case it helps anyone help me.
What Iâve already seen while looking for movies like Wind River:
Prisoners - Really like it. Though not super happy with who the final villain is and their story.
Hell or High Water - Also really liked it
Sicario - Its really good but the emotional core isnât quite there for me the same way as with Wind River.
The Assassination of Jesse James - This whole movie felt like being held hostage. Really good but almost too oppressive.
Fargo - Great movie, though right now Im kind of looking for something a bit more pained feeling.
The Proposition (2005) -Movie looks great. I love the plot around the police chief, but couldnât really buy into the villain much.
Other favorites: No Country for Old Men - I absolutely love the pacing, atmosphere, and suspense here
Unforgiven - This movie rocks. I love how the ending shows someone win but really, lose everything at the same time.
So yeah I hope I donât come across as too picky. Would really appreciate any recs youâd think Id like. Thank you in advance.
