I don't know whether this film is more well-known and highly regarded in its home country of Italy or in other parts of the world than mine, but I keep raving about this movie to anyone who will hear it and I have yet to meet anybody who loves it like I do, or has even heard of it for that matter. Thought I'd check here if there were other devoted fans of this enchanting little masterpiece.

If you haven't watched it: check it out. It's the most beautiful, moving coming of age tale I've ever seen, an ode to friendship and wonder that is just perfect in its simplicity. The cinematography is wonderful, the music gorgeous, the sense of time and place incredibly well conveyed, the child actors all excellent. Everything about this movie feels like a labor of love.
