I've heard for a few years people going back and forth about how 35mm film compares to digital and I'd like a solid clarification for someone who doesn't know that much on the subject. For me to get the best idea of how the comparison works, how would a release print of a 35mm film on opening day in say the 2000s, with the best possible projector/lens compare to a UHD or Blu-ray disc of the same movie when it comes to visible detail in the image and the quality of color? Any information would be appreciated.
