Over the Christmas holiday, I put on Pixar's The Good Dinosaur, since my oldest son is a bit infatuated with dinosaurs right now. Over the years, I heard it wasn't that great of a movie, that is wasn't one of Pixar's strongest, etc. Personally, I didn't think it was that bad of a movie. It definitely had elements and themes from other Disney movies, like The Lion King and Homeward Bound. Visually, it is a beautiful movie and I liked how the difference species of dinosaurs were represented; the Apatosaurus family being farmers and the T-Rex family being ranchers (with a great cameo voice by Sam Elliott). Sure it may not be in the top choices for Pixar movies, but it's certainly not a disappointment.
