Need help identifying movie I saw about a decade ago

Hello. when I was around 7 years old I was at a Haven holiday park and I remember watching a few scenes of a french (could be french but definitely European) horror movie. It really freaked me out at the time, there was a mother and child in some sort of apartment complex and during the night this white pale skin coloured creature came into the room. Does anyone have any idea what this movie is?
