As the title says, the single-player is still heavily "lacking" and with the Multiplayer scene going ever downhill (from what I can see) please focus on the single-player aspect of the game.
There's plenty of total conversion mods coming out right now but are still limited to what they can do especially for the fantasy ones (I think they needed some kind of mod tool that can edit the skeleton of a unit or something and many more).
It's been past a year already and the game still feels EMPTY mid to late game due to the little number of things you could do.
