Trek Slash. Good for the desert?

Hey all. So, I sold my diamond back a while ago when the bike market was really hot. I couldn’t resist the money was too good. I am curious if you guys think the trek/would be a good bike for Desert riding. There’s a lot of harsh ground around my city And a lot of slow uphill grinds, but some fun downhill.
