Follow-Up: 26" Wheels on a 650b/27.2 Frame
Post Body

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/mountainbikes/comments/ic39wg/putting_26_wheels_on_a_650b275_frameset_please/

The Dengfu frame took a while to arrive, and switching parts from my old bike went okay. To make matters more complicated, I ended up using a 29er fork because it was easier. A couple of shakedown rides and everything feels good. Yes, the rear mech hangs down a little further. We are not talking much. Note that I am running big 26er tires, so not a huge difference betwn it. outer wheel circumference if I put 27.2 wheels on it.

The position on the bike is very different than I am used to... Not bad, but different. The bars end up being much higher and the bottom bracket lower and I'm much further back on the back wheel than much older mountain bikes that included a setback seatpost.

TLDR. Run a big 26 inch tire on a 650b frameset and you too will not regret it.
