Why used (occasion) motorbikes are expensive in Netherlands?

Post Body

I’m looking to buy motorbike from some time but I see used motorbike are expensive in Netherlands compared to Germany and Belgium.

I checked on Motoroccasion and Marktplaats.

For example: Most used 600-700cc motorbikes (3-5 years old) with 10K mileage have asking price of just €500 - €1000 less than price of new motorbike (on dealership website). That’s only around 5-10% depreciation.

Similar moterbikes in Germany and Belgium have asking price €1500 - €2500 less than price of new motorbike.

So, I am curious about few things:

** What’s the reason for high asking prices for used moterbikes in NL?

** Are on-road prices of new moterbikes much higher than what dealerships show on their website?

Considering not much difference in Used and New moterbike prices, I am thinking of buying new one.
