Greetings. Bit of a weird situation. Bought a motorcycle that was originally registered in VT. The person I bought the motorcycle from via private sale bought it from a seller in VT - and as you may know - titles for bikes older than 15 YO are not required. The VT seller sold the bike to the person who sold the bike to me (an MA resident, I too am an MA resident) - and signed over the registration as well as a drafted up a BOS for that person. Problem is, the new owner (the person who sold it to me) never registered the bike I guess he got a DUI or 2 which means you can't register a bike. So now I have an old BOS with both sellers names on it, and a registration signed over to the person who sold me the bike. What would be the proper course of action in this instance. As far as I know the VIN checks out clean so the bike is not stolen thankfully. Am I an idiot for taking this on? It was a 2003 Aprilia SL1000 for $1700. I didn't want to pass on the deal.
