Spent months getting my baby back on the road after she sat outside for 6yrs. Feels good to be back in the saddle after so long!
Post Body

Didn't have a garage until recently, so she sat outside the entire time. Under a cover, at least, but still outside.

Turned out the seal on the gas cap went bad so my tank rusted, and the gas turned to varnish. I had put stabilizer in, but its probably not effective over that long of a time. So all in all, this is what had to be done:

  • remove rust and gummed up gas from tank

  • new gas cap

  • new fuel pump

  • new fuel line

  • bypass old fuel filter and add an inline filter

  • clean and rebuild injectors

  • new tires

  • new chain & sprockets (old ones rusted)

  • oil, oil filter, coolant, brake fluid for brakes and clutch

  • air filter

  • spark plugs

  • new seats (originals cracked)

  • new battery

  • new bellypan that I accidentally broke

  • couple new bulbs

Glad to say shes now running probably better than she was when put her down. Feels good to be back in the saddle after so long!
