I have a motorcycle and a moped.
I use my mopeds when I go get groceries etc. (more space for storage.)
I always ride in full gear (Jacket, Gloves, Helmet, pants.)
I often wave to cars that are waiting to left turn, to make sure they see me.
A few motorcycles rode by as that happened, thought I was waving at them.
They shake heads.
Moments later a different biker on Harley, laughing at the amount of protections I have on. (To be fair I WAS wearing my Alpine stars SP1 gloves, as I want to break them in for track season.)
Personally these things don't bother me at all, but I am just curious why so many riders thinks being on a motorcycle makes them better?
Few riders I know also loves making fun of car drivers, calling them cagers, and often revving engines to them.
Motorcycle actually puts us in disadvantage on the road, the superior feeling is unjust. Waving and signaling to other bikers I thought was to signal ride safe as we are the minorities, and we got each other's back. (at least that's what I thought.)
(This is probably more USA specific.)
Probably should've named this post "rider's ego" instead.
