My complex is going to start repaving the roads so we had to move our cars outside of the complex. I had my girlfriend drive my truck out while I followed her on the bike. Its less than a quarter mile so I said fuck it I don't need gear. So I rode out with no helmet, no gloves, no jacket, and tennis shoes. It was so freeing and liberating. The breeze flowing, not feeling confined or restricted. I understand even more the joy of riding and can see what the old timers meant by it.

Edit: I'm am not advocating or encouraging people to ride without gear. Yes it was a dangerous thing to do and lots could have gone wrong even if it was 300-400 yard ride at 10mph. Just sharing a moment people, relax.
