Hello! I just finished my BRC this Sunday and don't have my license just yet.

I am currently looking at gear and getting my bike this weekend and I am going to have a buddy, who has five years riding experience including long trips, ride the bike back from Michigan to Chicago, Ilinois.

The dealer mentioned they are going to give me a 20% discount on all the gear I buy from them. They mentioned they sell Cortech and Tourmaster gear and HJC helmets. Anyone have any experience with this gear? I was going to buy a helmet, jacket and gloves up there.

I am going to try and familiarize myself with the bike for a few weeks before I put it up for the winter. Would this be sufficient for just neighborhood riding where I wouldn't be going over 25MPH?

I plan on getting some boots and Kevlar pants with armor before Spring.

Any advice would be helpful.

Also here is the bike. They just marked it down to $3600. I thought it was a pretty good deal.
