First bike advice?

First time rider. I'm 6ft tall, about 190lbs, have a one hour commute on the highway everyday. Ideally would pick up a rebel 500 but outside my budget. A little concerned about rebel 300 and left off Yamaha v-star 250 due to highway cruising speed concerns.
