I currently ride a Himalayan in Wyoming, getting ready for winter riding this year after enjoying dirt roads and 2 track all summer. I’m going to put studs in the tires and get a battery tender set up along with maybe a block heater because I don’t ride far or fast daily. If anyone has advice for just the above I’d love to hear! Now the real crazy bit, I want to do this on something like a gsxr 600. I want to do highway speeds comfortably in the summer and throw on some 50/50 studded tires in the winter. I also want to ride this mystical sport bike off-pavement like the Himalayan so a crash cage and guards will be important modifications. Does anyone have any insight on doing this and what 600ish class bike would be best do attempt this with?
