Last year I started with a 94 Honda Shadow 1100, then a 96 Harley Sportster 1200. I sold those and now I have a 2018 Harley Street Glide. All three great bikes in their own ways. There's a couple reasons I switched to Harley. First of all, NOTHING sounds like a real Harley. The other companies come close, but are no where near as deep sounding. Second the aftermarket is 100x better. It was really hard to find floorboards for the Shadow. I had to buy a used set and also had to drill a hole on one side because they didn't quite line up. Didn't have much choice because no one makes them anymore. With Harley you can go back 80 years and there's still companies making parts for those bikes. But the Honda was very smooth and they are cheap on the used market, I'll give them credit for that. Let's not turn this into a Ford vs Chevy pissing match. I'm interested in thoughts from those that have owned both.
