A good read from the Athletic when the Giants and Tigers were both 64-98 on October 1st, 2017 to end the season with the two worst records and two of the worst farms systems in baseball at the time according to Baseball America and two bloated payrolls, and fighting for the number 1 pick which the Tigers got on the last game of the season.

Points out the different paths the teams took, they also listed Tigers WAR from players 2018 to current. Pretty sad Mike Fiers is still tied for 5th on that list. Of course the Tigers have nothing to show for in his return with his trade.
