(Un?) popular opinion. Suzuki exit made everyone think MotoGP teams just up and quit when they’re in a slump
Post Body

I don’t recall quote as many articles speculating a Ducati exit in their (very long) slump. Nor do I remember so many speculations of a Suzuki exit before the surprise popped. And I haven’t seen even one solid article calling for a Yamaha exit, only the odd article that also discusses a Honda retirement. How quickly we forget that just a few years ago Honda dominated. Now they stand to possibly lose their star rider and all anyone talks about is one of the longest standing forces to be reckoned with in MotoGP throwing in the towel.

I guess anything to sell clicks these days. That or my memory is shite. Either way, my opinion is that the topic is boring and I’m much more interested in watching how they pull themselves out of this

If Honda quits in a slump only a year after Suzuki, I think the manufacturers are losing interest and the sport is dying.
