Background: we recently moved across the country from our families. His mother comes to visit at least once every other months for 2-3 weeks.
So we ventured back across the country recently. (Work related) I was talking to my husband about the youngest child's upcoming first birthday. I asked if he had ordered the cake from the baker yet. His mother interjected to say "oh I already ordered him one so he could have a "crush cake" while he's here because I think it'll be fun to watch him"
I immediately said we already had something we were planning to do.
Tonight she brought out a cake. I promptly excused myself from the table and went in to the other room.
My husband thinks I'm overreacting and emotional.(I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant)
I feel like once again she has gone against what I wanted to do and disregarded everything I say in regards to the child.
