Heat shield gap on 590

Hey everyone, just bought my first shotgun a beautiful mossberg 590. I was just stripping the firearm and learning how it functions, when reassembling I noticed a gap between the heat shield/barrel and receiver. I’m not sure if this is normal I’ve tried to sit it a few times and each time it retains a small gap. If anyone with more experience could offer some insight it would be greatly appreciated.
