Hearing Burnie and Ashley talk about Doric today was amazing for me as I'm from the part of Scotland where it is spoken. Its generally viewed as the part of Scotland that the rest of Scotland don't understand. I'd definitely say its more of a dialect than an accent but the northeastern accent probably doesn't help people understand it either.
To show how difficult it can be for people not from the area to understand this is legit a sententence we can use, it makes sense and its just variations of one word.
"Fit fit, fits fit fit?" Translates to "What shoe fits what foot?"
Honestly its delightful dialect and I love it, we also have "fit like?" For "how are you?" And the best word for cuddles/hugs you'll ever hear, "bosies" pronounced "bo-zees".
