I'm arguing with a guy who believes that lifting heavy weights (more than 33% of bodyweight) is dangerous for children. Can you please give me a peer reviewed paper that shows that lifting heavy weights os actually safe for children? Thanks

Ideally you'd start (meticulously supervised of course) workouts and martial arts at 7 then gradually transition towards weighted training. Once puberty hits the kid's already got insane momentum and would likely hit genetic peak at 22-24 give or take.

It'd prevent so many issues with discipline and self image in the long run.
