There are times when an ME (Medical Examiner) needs to clean the bones of someone, to help determine how they died. Of course, the remains are boiled. (This is something I have seen on many crime shows).
- So, what happens to the meat/fat/skin that is boiled off the bones?
- If the body is still pretty much intact, do they cut the body up into pieces?
- Is there a special pot?
4.Do they scrape off as much tissue as possible beforehand?
Edit 1: Addition to question 1. Are the remains discarded (for someone who is unidentified), or are the remains strained and passed to the family? (Man I am seriously not wording this correctly).
Edit 2: This is about HUMAN remains, not animals. I do appreciate the responses from those who are taxidermists. Very interesting information!
Edit 3: I am not asking about a regular death. I am asking about when a persons remains are found, and their remains are cleaned so that the ME can determine cause of death.
