About Nora's Playhouse:
Named for the heroine of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, Nora’s Playhouse is 501(c)3 women’s theatre collective with an all volunteer staff. While our base of operations is in Brooklyn, New York, our members live not only in the five boroughs, but in New Jersey, in Washington DC, and in Montgomery, Alabama.
We are devoted to developing and producing women-centered stories, while increasing professional opportunities for our fellow women theatre artists both on and off-stage. Women continue to be under-represented both as the primary subject matter for scripts, as well as in the positions of director, playwright, manager, designer and technical staff in professional theatre. We want to change that. Nora’s Playhouse is interested in sharing a wide range of women’s stories, and has a particular commitment to shedding light on women’s human rights issues.
