In case you've somehow missed it, Southern Art and Makers Collective is a shop on Madison Ave, a block or so away from Crampton Bowl. Inside they carry art from around 90 local artists (and a few authors such as myself). This year they have expanded to take over the adjacent space. Because of that, they have a lot more room to add new artists.
So if you are an artist of any type, you should go down there and check it out, and see if it would be a good fit for you. They really are open to most anything I've seen. For example there are: paintings, fiber arts, ornate birdhouses, jewelry, honey, handmade soaps and candles, metal statues, pottery, stained glass, and postcards.
Also, if you are a creative that would like to teach a class of some sort, they are very open to that. They had a very nice woman who taught a large number of fiber arts classes who (I think) has moved away. But they are very open to working with you to teach a class through them.
The cool thing, for those who may be starting your journey, is you operate under their business license for the city/county of Montgomery for any sales within their shop. So that can makes things easier for folks who are starting out, and maybe live in some of the surrounding counties.
