After finishing up with the lacking content in rise I finally returned to GU to finish it, because I never even really started high rank. Anyway, I started a low rank zinogre quest just for fun. I had a podcast I was listening to, and once the game loaded and I saw the map my jaw literally dropped. Monster hunter has ALWAYS had the best map design. I know loading screens between areas are a point of contention for some people, but I actually kinda love how they do the transitions between locations. I remember fighting a tetsucabra and jumping down to the next area from a ledge to follow him, and the scenery change was so crazy and cool to experience. World honestly mastered this as well, I loved exploring World’s… world, which obviously was the point. So after playing Rise, I just realized how little enjoyment I got from exploring those maps are the first few times. I never hate getting lost in GU in the beginning of quests because I love seeing the different environments.
