I've got a save with 400 hours and I loved the hell out of MHW, but the endgame grind it horrible in IB. Part of that I feel is the whole clutch claw mechanic and the need to tenderize parts. Have you ever tried to tenderize a Diablos or an Odogaron that just won't stop moving? It doesn't work, you just keep getting thrown off despite the fact that there's a six-foot axe jammed into it's leg. And the changes to the monster HZVs mean that if it's not tenderized you're not even getting orange damage numbers some of the time, which means less dps and less affinity (so dropping sharpness). It's just frustrating trying to spend the first five minutes of a fight trying to get an opening to tenderize just so you can actually do enough damage to topple the monster, but then you can't even do good damage to their head because it's not tenderized and doing so would just waste the topple.
Then there's the fact that the clutch claw aim is shit. I can't count how many times I've aimed for a monsters head WHILE IT WAS SLEEPING to try and go for a wallbang and ended up clinging to its arm because what matters is where your hitbox impacts the monster, not where you aimed the damn claw.
Fantastic game, but needs better implementation in places.
