Hello all,
A matter has been playing on my mind a fair bit recently and I was curious as to what other people's experiences in similar situations were.
For the past 2 years I have worked as Senior Analyst in AML for a financial investment firm.
The job in of itself is all round good, but offers very limited scope as far as career progression goes, especially if you wish to work your way into certain niches of AML/CDD.
I am content in the role, however, I can't help but entertain the idea of jumping ship, not just to another company, but instead back into the iGaming industry where I begun working in AML, as I just found that industry to be a lot more exciting, the work far more varied and the scope for career opportunities far greater.
The only reason I left my old role which I adored, was due to mr moving back to my home country after several years abroad, where I had the iGaming role and ever since (even with this otherwise decently role now), I can't shake getting back into iGaming out of my mind.
I live in the Southwest of England and London aside (where I don't wish to go), pretty much all AML jobs in iGaming would require relocating up North. I don't mind doing that for the right job, but it must be taken into account that this is a huge undertaking.
With all this in mind, I just wanted to see what other people's experiences of moving from one industry to the other in AML jobs where, if any of you had any insight, or even helpful advice (?).
Many thanks for reading!
