It's my first time working making silicone molds. I love the detail I am able to pick up. I also hate the amount of detail I am able to pick up lol.
I am trying to figure out the best way to go about making a mother mold. I would prefer to not make them out of solid silicone to avoid high cost.
The textured outer surface has made it difficult to make a standard mother mold (registration is tricky).
I was thinking a couple layer of plaster bandage around the center part line perhaps? Then fusing that with a larger mother mold.
FYI: this is a two part mold that will ultimately end up as two press molds that will be glued together (casting in sugar and cannot pour into mold).
I've attached some boots to hopefully make this all make sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
