My gasket fused to my pot!!

Sorry about the disgusting picture. I noticed my coffee was smelling a little weird, but couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I thought, I’ll change the gasket, and bloody hell!! Couldn’t shift it. Those bits are still fused. Is it worth trying to clean it or should I treat myself to a new one? I left the pot cleaned but assembled for about 7 months
