Hi Modhelp, I've gotten new inspiration to get on Reddit specifically around STEM subreddits. There is one subreddit I'm very interested in, but it's dead. 1 post last month, and the next most recent before that was 9 months ago. It has a mod that is active elsewhere, but not on this subreddit. Ie I've seen that they've posted on other subreddits in the last 16 days but over the last 9 month since taking over the subreddit I'm interested in, they haven't done anything or posted anything. They haven't responded to any of my mod mail about becoming an approved poster, and the subreddit has sat at the same number of users for the last 2 months since I've jumped back on Reddit.
I had a look at the rules over at Reddit request, and have noted I have to have had an account for about 3 months (unfortunately i started my new account back in Oct), and 500 karma (almost halfway there) to be able to apply for access to the sub.
My question is, even if I meet the requirements, can i still apply for the subreddit, if the mod is active elsewhere but not on the subreddit? I suppose i could apply, but really what I'm asking is, how likely would i be able to become top mod on that sub given the situation?
