I mod an adult sub; like all of the adult NSFW subs we get tons (like 200 ) automated bots/ prostitutes/ onlyfans content sellers as well as a significant number of them selling child porn. I ban the users immediately, but later in the day I see them posting the same content again. I know I banned them successfully the first time, because when I go to do it again the only choice is "unban user". How are they able to do this, and is there anything I can do to keep them away?
On a related note, quite often when I go to ban one of these people and hover over their name no menu comes up to be able to ban them; it is just unresponsive.
These people post this stuff all day and night, the same exact messages with the same snap and telegram contact info over and over. After a while you can see the patterns. They usually have user names that are random combinations of letters and numbers, and change them slightly with each batch so I am sure they must all be coming from the same source(s). If Reddit bans a user account for say, child porn and it keeps popping back up with a slightly different name posting the same content, can't it just be banned at the domain level and save everyone, including system mods, a lot of time and effort?
This is why we can't have nice things...
