So I’m aware that new weapons will be released post-launch, but does anyone think/is hoping for more weapons being made available at launch than what’s currently available in the betas? I’m not trying to sound like a complainer, I think IW has picked a very good and well rounded lineup and the current arsenal is solid, but it could definitely be a bit more fleshed out.

The AR and SMG categories are well stocked considering they’re the most dominant and easily accessible weapons available but I’d love to see expansion of the more niche weapons like shotguns, LMGs, DMR/Snipers and launchers. There’s certainly no shortage of armaments in the world that could serve as inspiration.

A certain trend I’ve noticed in recent COD games is the ARs and SMGs getting a lot of attention while the more specialized options named above are almost stripped down to the most basic archetypes. An example for snipers would be: powerful bolt action, semi auto sniper, middle ground bolt action. Shotguns have the powerful pump, weak semi, and maybe a wildcard like a double barrel or weak full auto. I’d just love to see more overlap and variety between the archetypes and see more love given to the more specialized options. It would promote weapon diversity and incentives trying to create some unique classes.
