Unreasonable standards should not be applied, certainly.
But simultaneously, if you can't actually give your children a quality education, you shouldn't have a right to fuck them up educationally speaking.
Part of the obligation you take on by homeschooling is making sure you comply with standards... you decided to do the thing, you can't be mad that it involves reasonable burdens.
The burden in this case is just telling the state that you have homeschooled children, on what planet is that unreasonable?
