Hi everyone,
I'm restoring a Lionel 2037 steamer I bought for cheap off Ebay. See that rear truck? It's one of those sheet metal ones with different-sized wheels, and it's a real eyesore. I'm absolutely sick of it.
So I had a grand idea. What if I unscrewed that trailing truck and replaced it with a trailing truck from a 2025 or a 675 (They're the same)? It looks much better. Do you think it would fit or be compatible at all?
EDIT: I originally was wondering about a 2055 or a 2065 rear truck, but I've realized that they won't fit. Thanks, Millstonemike!
If anyone has done this or something similar, please let me know. If someone knows that this won't work, do you have any other better looking rear trucks that could fit?
Here's the 2037 rear truck (and the drawbar):
Here's the 675/2025 rear truck:
Thank you!
