So I collect those Star Trek ship replicas from Eaglemoss, and the ship models are held in an acrylic stand, that then slots into a heavier metal l base. Well one of my stands had a slight molding defect that made it too big to fit into the hole on the base. So I filed it down just a tiny bit, but that tiny but was too much, and now it is too loose.
I can tighten it by wrapping a sliver of paper around the stand to give it a little extra thickness in the base, but I’d prefer something more permanent. I tried UV resin, but that wouldn’t properly adhere to the acrylic and came right off when I tried to insert it into the base.
Gluing the stand to the base is not an option, because I need to be able to take it apart to go back into the box when models go into storage.
Any recommendations? I was thinking maybe clear nail polish, but wasn’t sure if that would adhere any better.
