Hi everyone! I'm pretty amateur in terms of scale model making. However, I plan to create a 1:250 scale model of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I have previous experience making models of buildings as I was an architecture major in college. However, they never got as complex as my dreams for this model. I found the hull diagrams I'm going to need to create the hull. They were not exactly to the scale I needed. So I brought them into AutoCAD and scaled them correctly. Credit for original drawings © 2015 Sam Perkins-Harbin, www.3dfitz.com . I'm curious how some of you would go about making the hull. I'm thinking about using the diagram to cut 1/16" sheets of museum board and laying them along a central keel, then laying some sort of foam in between and sanding them to fit the profile of the museum board. I'm looking for pointers, how would you make it? I'm really excited to get started since this is my favorite ship. Let me know what you think. I'll be posting regular updates!

Feel free to build with me! Make your own version! use the diagram that I scaled!
