The scene cuts to a large assembly of reporters and observers, waiting in front of an empty podium. After a short moment, Senator Cutler Oji of Kuat steps out from behind the curtain, followed immediately by Senator Doman Beruss of Corellia and CEC President Kristoff Braven. As the crowd begins to stir, Oji raises a hand to ask for quiet. Once everyone is listening, he leans forward towards the mic,

"We'd like to thank you all for coming. There are new threats on the horizon and there are many Republic lives at risk with these threats. In times such as these, often we reflect inward, only concerning ourselves with our own needs and fears. It is times such as these when it's more important than ever to look outward, to those who would share a common future. In order to strengthen the defensive and economic power of our planets and, in the best interest of the Centralist Party, I, Senator Oji am proud to announce the 'Corellian-Kuati Concord'. This agreement solidifies our two great peoples pledge to protect each other and to ensure our industry continues to thrive."

Cutler bows and steps away from the podium, making room for President Kristoff Braven. He steps forward and continues,

“For too long, Kuat and Corellia have been competitors. Enemies in trade, so to speak. This agreement between our two proud nations will at last give our people the chance at security and opportunity we all deserve.”

The president flashes his charismatic smile.

“It’s times like these that the New Republic needs people it can rely on to fuel its defense against the unknown. And Corellia and Kuat will be that cornerstone for the galaxy to lean upon.”

Reporters and holocams flash and the stand is flooded with a barrage of questions.

“Thank you. That will be all.”
