Basically I work full time as an engineer but I have most evening and weekends free. I've been fixing people's phones, Pc's for years now normally just friends. I was replacing my sons screen the other day for the 2nd time and I thought why not do this as a side line as I enjoy doing it and it could bring some extra cash in.
I was thinking of limiting the service at first to just screen replacement and I would offer a pick up and drop off service. I know there's quite a lot of mobile phone repair shops here in the UK so I'm not even sure what the demand is. Although going by the amount of people I see on Facebook asking where to get their screens replaced from it must be still high.
I have a few main questions that I've been thinking about which are:
1) Is it best to build up a stock of screens? I guess this could be expensive at the start. 2) Is there any makes and models that are just to difficult to replace? 3) Is it best to limit the makes and models fixed to say IPhone and Samsung? 4) What type of turnaround would you offer? 5) I assume it's a good idea to source quality parts rather than use eBay?
Any other tips / advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
