Hello. I am 29 F from a Southeast Asian country. We donāt do baseball. Anyone who does is either a general sports fan or has American blood.
Iāve been in and out of the US on business. I met a guy. I like him.
Weāve already been on one date but Iām more nervous for this second one because I wanna work on how I never seem interested in someone (even though I really am) and among others one step would be to connect with him through the thing he apparently wonāt shut up about, which is baseball and the MLB. I canāt even spell or pronounce the team he is a fan of (it starts with an O). He hasnāt told me much more about much of a die-hard fan he is because he doesnāt want to bore or alienate me.
I guess I just need help on finding any videos to watch or articles to read that could give me some sort of crash course on how baseball and the MLB work, also maybe within the context of whatās happening in this season. Anything in the style of ātalk to me like a 5 year oldā would be even better. I know nothing about baseball but I know for a fact that Iām a fast learner.
The goal isnāt to pretend to be a longtime fan, Iām definitely gonna tell him about how I learned all I can about a new topic in the span of a week just so I could know what heās talking about, and heāll probably laugh at me, but that would be okay.
Not sure if this would be allowed here but Iām taking my chances. Thank you.
