Hi. Im playing bass guitar live with my band using audio interface and a laptop opening plugins and sending to mixer. I apply compressor and Eq some boosts cut here and there but also do some 24db slope low cut at around 50hz not to blow subwoofers and the and to make them more efficient. Im reading about phase thing also here but I just cant figure out what it is exactly on a single track? I know from drums there are of course phase issues as a lot of mics picking up the same source and slight cancellations are for sure going to happen or on a PA system between sub and top at the crossover point. But for a single mono source like DI bass I just cant understand it. Is it because the bass is not a sine wave as it has lots of harmonics and It causes shifts or distortions on a lot of frequencies? Thanks a lot.
