Years ago I saw a post and series of comments on some forum somewhere where people were mentioning db levels they tend to like their instruments and instrument groups at relative to each other. For example kick around -15 to -18, snare about the same level, drum bus around -12, guitar bus around -18 etc. Of course these numbers would be adjusted by genre, the recording quality, the player/gear, and about 100 other things. However Iām curious if anyone else does something like that to put things in the ballpark quickly?
