Dr. Umar’s “school,” is called the Frederick Douglass-Marcus Garvey Academy. He has been collecting donations, free helping hands, black money, black plumbing, etc. for nearly a dozen years now.. In this post, I will not even begin to dive into how his rhetoric is the exact opposite of decades long speeches & positions taken by Frederick Douglass.

Regarding Umar Johnson….It used to be just entertainment for me, now he is getting some hate for free. 2023 ain’t over yet and I’m submitting my own nomination for Playa Hata of the year. Thanks to this black blog for making this easygoing

His father said he does not believe his son has stolen money. He said he has not seen his son’s doctoral degree nor does he believe his son is lying about his degree.

HOWEVER, here his Father compares his son to Donald Trump, among other things… He blames YALL for reinforcing his behavior. (timestamp 15:30):

Attached are screenshots of both the Douglass family and Bailey family not claiming him as part of the family. Umar called Terrence Bailey a coon for refuting his ties to Frederick Douglass and being in the military, but his own father is a Marine veteran. Additionally, I attached a photo of Dr. Garvey, Marcus’ son, and his co-workers who are vein specialists, vascular surgeons, laser experts, top vein doctor and venous disease specialists at Garvey’s private practice in NY.

Jamal Johnson’s granddaughter was 17 when she was shot in the leg. He was out of town.

“I came home and saw her laid up in bed,” Johnson recalled on a cold March evening, five years later. “I remember looking at her and just not believing this — because it happens to everybody else. It doesn’t happen to you.”

To hammer home the point, Johnson went on hunger strike. He starved himself for 26 days, waiting for Mayor Jim Kenney to acknowledge a City Council resolution declaring gun violence a citywide emergency.

Attached is a screenshot of his dad’s facebook post clearing up misinformation on why Umar believed he was a descendant of Frederick Douglass. While talking to Ish on the Joe Budden podcast, he did not deny being a descendant of Douglass although without question he has known the truth for at least five years now.. In London, he calls himself kinsman to Frederick Douglass, and has never made any mention of Frederick Douglass’ affair with European white women, while saying in modern times any black man who dates outside of his race, no matter what they do for black people, cannot gain his respect.

Another picture attached is his dad with a friend, a white woman, activist featured prominently in the book “”The myth of the welfare queen,” written by a white man, David Zucchino. Some of you may know Cherri Lynn Honake’s son from the Scott Pilgrim movies.

Well wishes for my opposition. Denzel’s performance in the Great Debators made me built different. Not that it should matter, and yet since it does matter, I never made a white woman my boo in my life. Blessings. I’m sweating in the shade. I see Umar’s mission as more sexual selfishness than black educational and economical empowering.

If you made this far, thanks for reading. Umar’s father, who still donated to support his son, said it better than I could on why he does not approve of his son’s behavior. If Umar did not have a million followers, dozens of influential black people who spread his message, supporters who excuse his behavior, and more, I would not have had to do all this. Some say people like me should ignore him and he will go away. Clearly not.

Please go buy the book Our Black Year by Miami/Chicago Black Woman extraordinaire Maggie Anderson. She is not boastful nor does she give herself nicknames, and still her book is just as essential to Black Power economics as Black Power: The Politics of Liberation by Kwame Ture and Charles V. Hamilton (who is still alive folks!)
