I am mixed (mother is black, father is white) and, as I’ve learned recently, autistic.

The social faults that come with autism definitely affect how accepted I’ve been in the black community. Given that i’m very light-skinned, to the point of most people assuming i’m white (or hispanic? Probably just because I grew up in a majority latino neighborhood and understand spanish pretty well- but I don’t know.) I already have an appearance-based disadvantage to my “validity” in the black community. But, on top of that, not “sounding” or “acting” black enough has made me end up feeling entirely unwelcome to half of my identity.

Any other autistic/neurodivergent mixed race people experience this?
